Ex-unknown quantity, Sharaya Mikael, shared a show with one of my favorites E-S Guthrie and is no longer unknown. The Speakeasy, upstairs at the Preservation Pub was the scene of my enlightenment. With her gorgeous voice and delightful lyrics (or is it delightful voice and gorgeous lyrics) she made fans of the crowd in her first trip to Knoxville.
An Oregon native currently living in, surprise, Nashville, Shayara is about to complete a tour of all fifty states. She has only Alaska left and it is booked. I’ve met road warriors with this goal but she will be the first I know to accomplish the feat. You may start sending me your list of others who preceded her… now.
After listening to Sharaya for an evening I believe there is a fresh market for her talents. I think she should be booking herself to play first dates. Her repertoire is perfect for it and the outcome win win, for her. Either the couple has a wonderful romantic evening and becomes fans or she steals away other young man’s heart and gets a first date for herself.
Look for Sharaya. She’s bound to be coming to your state soon.
