Even If I Don’t Always Say So, I Am Thankful Each Day

I am thankful for music. Try as I might I can never thank all of you, the folks out on the road bringing to me, personally, your gift. I am thankful for The Blue Plate Special and Eleven O’Clock Rock for bringing me two hours of free live music every weekday. These shows bring my friends to town on a regular basis, and new friends each week. I am thankful for the songs you write, you play, you sing. They make me smile and laugh and nod my head and tap my foot and dance on the inside and sometimes even cry. If I said thanks everyday it wouldn’t be enough. I am thankful for Po Bronson and his marvelous book, What Should I Do With My Life, which pushed me toward writing this blog. I am thankful for Tom Waits, for no matter how much I love all of you hard working, creative, wonderful musicians, someone has to be my favorite. Enjoy your day and practice peace.
